Proud Provider of Head Start

A Head Start in life — at no cost to qualifying families.

Head Start and Early Head Start are CommUnify's flagship programs — run by us, right here in Santa Barbara County. From birth through preschool, we provide children and their families the high-quality child care, early education, healthy meals, and health & wellness check-ups they need to thrive.

Our teachers are bilingual and culturally competent. Children build a strong foundation in both languages — so when they reach school, a language difference is never mistaken for a learning difficulty.

“Mom is thriving now. She’s eating and laughing again.”
She was 88 and had just broken her hip. What we needed was someone who could show up fast. A CommUnify technician installed grab bars the same week — at no cost.

“He finished probation. He improved his grades. That plan belongs to him.”
He wasn't a problem to be managed. He was a 14-year-old who had never had a single adult stay long enough to find out who he actually was. His case manager showed up every week.
